Our Role
While providing interim controller services, GFO was given the responsibility of restructuring the accounting operations, implementing necessary controls that were lacking, interviewing potential candidates, and ultimately managing SOX compliance.
Result
GFO uncovered and rectified significant issues with respect to payroll tax liabilities. We managed the filing of past-due SEC reports and streamlined the process for recording of SEC 10-K and 10-Q forms. Going forward we ascertained that those filings were completed accurately and on time. GFO brought the client current with respect to month-end and quarter-end closes and improved those processes such that they were easier to complete in a more timely fashion. GFO then helped guide the client through Sarbanes-Oxley compliance by managing the client side testing and documenting all of the necessary processes and procedures.

The client needed an interim CFO while they conducted a search for a permanent CFO
Result
GFO served as the client's CFO for 3 months. During that time we managed two month-end closes and a quarter-end close. This involved balance sheet reconciliation and posting of adjusting journal entries. We also worked closely with the client's accounting firm in conducting the client's annual audit and we trained the new CFO, helping ease the transition process.
